Pertaining
to the anterior or preoral ganglia of the nervous system in
invertebrate animals, regarded as the analogue or homologue of the
vertebrate brain.
These
ganglia are commonly connected with the rest of the nervous system by an
esophageal ring, or commissural fibers encircling the anterior part of
